How to use Cauldrons in Minecraft

Overall, cauldrons can hold five different substances and have multiple uses with different substances. However, the major use of cauldrons in Minecraft, when they were first introduced, was for holding and using water. Over the course of their existence, cauldrons have evolved.

Java & Bedrock Edition

Water

The cauldron can offer advantages by holding water. If you don’t have a source of water in space, it is a concise way to fill bottles with potion. A cauldron is a way to have water in the Nether. It is very helpful to be able to dip into a cauldron filled with water to prevent burns or to extinguish lava caused by Blazemen.

Lava

Over time, the Dripstone with a pointed shape can gradually fill a pot, with lava above it.

Powdered Snow

The place that can be used to block snow is a cauldron filled with powdered snow, which you will get by using an empty bucket on a full cauldron of powdered snow. You can fall into the cauldron, but it will not cause any freeze damage. While all the other cauldrons are filled with liquid, the cauldron of powdered snow only contains a solid element.

These techniques only function in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

Dyed Water

This is a simple method to color Leather Helmets, Leather Chestplates, Leather Pants, and Leather Boots by utilizing Dyed Water, which is produced by dyeing water in a cauldron. Additionally, it is possible to combine different dye colors. It is important to note that this feature is exclusive to Bedrock Edition.

Potions

In Bedrock edition, this only works. The cauldron will fill with three potions. At level one, the cauldron will fill it at a specific time. It can be used to tip arrows, but it will not give the effect potion when standing in the potion. The most efficient way is to stack a whole stack of arrows as the tip of the arrow. It can tip the whole stack of arrows with whichever effect potion was put inside, and then the cauldron will empty.

Other Information

In a Swamp Hut (Witch’s Hut), cauldrons can be naturally generated or crafted with seven iron ingots in a U shape. The Leatherworker profession is associated with the cauldron, which also serves as a Jobsite block for villagers. Although cauldrons can contain liquids, they are unable to hold ‘food’ items such as stew, milk, and honey in any version.
