Although rain was the first type of special weather to be added to Minecraft, it also introduced thunderstorms and snowfall as alternative options for long periods of time. This debut of different weather conditions in the game’s early development, almost 12 years ago, was a significant milestone.
By controlling the rainfall and modifying weather conditions according to their preferences, players are able to utilize commands and activate cheats within a virtual environment.
How can players turn the rain off and on in Minecraft?
Step 1: Enabling cheats in the world
For players of Minecraft Java Edition:
In order to ensure that players are enabled with cheats or in creative mode, they need to first use commands in Minecraft to adjust the weather, while they are playing on the Minecraft server or in the world.
If cheats are already activated or creative mode is available, this step can be bypassed.
By clicking on the ‘ESC’ key before opening LAN, players can simply enable cheats in the latest version of Minecraft Java Edition.
Attention all Minecraft Bedrock Edition players:
Cheats in Minecraft Bedrock Edition can be enabled by simply navigating to the “Settings” menu and toggling the “Game” option to enable the cheats.
Step 2: Using the weather command
Players can now utilize cheats that have been enabled to adjust their own weather settings and modify rainfall by using the “/weather” command.
To disable rain, players have the option to type /weather clear. To enable rainfall, players can input /weather rain.
To intensify the rainfall and incorporate lightning strikes, players can also input /weather thunder.
How to permanently switch off rain in Minecraft
The weather in Minecraft can also be permanently turned off, resulting in a consistently sunny climate.
In the game, players who want to ensure that cheats are enabled in creative mode must permanently switch the rain off command to have a use, as this is the world they are in.
The command to permanently disable rain in Minecraft is: /gamerule doWeatherCycle false. To re-enable rain, players can easily type: /gamerule doWeatherCycle true.
