The Map!

The game can be described as absolutely colossal, to say the least. Just to give you an idea, one “colossal” area measures approximately 136km2. Nevertheless, this measurement only encompasses Novegrad, No Man’s Land, and Skellige Islands. Beyond these regions lie another 4-6 areas of indeterminate size, yet we can be certain that they too boast a magnificently vast expanse.

Bigger than Everything Else?

Despite the limited details provided, it is apparent that The Witcher 3 surpasses the size of the GTA San Andreas map by a factor of 3.7. Moreover, it exceeds the area of GTA V by 1.5 times, Red Dead Redemption by 3.3 times, Far Cry 4 by 3 times, and Skyrim by three and a half times, despite the latter’s modest 39 km2.

In essence, our understanding of the map’s size is currently quite conservative. However, considering that there are still unexplored regions awaiting thorough examination, the estimate can only trend in a single direction: upwards!
