When it comes to crowds, they follow distinct spawning regulations as they are considered a structure. They will appear every few hundred chunks, thus making them quite uncommon. In Minecraft, Pillagers will generate near Outposts.

None of them are quick and easy, and there are only a few remedies available. Even if the player is inside the tower. Pillagers are able to continuously spawn nearby, even after clearing a Pillager Outpost, unfortunately.

Base Building

Stopping the spawning of Pillagers is not a simple task before beginning. If you have not yet constructed a base close to an Outpost, but are considering it, then I suggest that you refrain from doing so. The task of preventing Pillagers from spawning is not easy to accomplish.

Instead, perhaps consider constructing your own Outpost, as its design is quite straightforward. However, if you truly want to avoid Pillagers from spawning, then review the following steps you can take. If you need to prevent Pillagers from spawning without a doubt, you can check some of the steps below. Maybe you can try building an Outpost of your own, as it is a simple design.

Spawn Rules

Irrespective of the brightness, Pillager-themed creatures have the capability to appear on Grass Blocks and Sand Blocks. The brightness level of a block must not exceed 8 for Pillagers to emerge. Pillagers will generate in the vicinity of an Outpost in Minecraft Java Edition, within a 74x52x72 range.

Unfortunately, Pillagers persistently spawn despite illuminating a vast expanse surrounding the Pillager Outpost. This puts us in a challenging predicament.

To prevent Pillagers from spawning in Minecraft, it is necessary to replace all nearby Grass Blocks and Sand Blocks within a radius of approximately 74 blocks in every direction. Thus, this becomes the sole approach to achieve the desired outcome.

The first step that needs to be completed is to reach level 8 below the light. As long as this condition is met, Pillagers are still able to spawn. This mechanic involves encountering hostile mobs like Skeletons, Zombies, and Creepers.

When pillagers spawn at an outpost, it is not the quickest method but it does not require any cheats. To ensure that no pillagers spawn anymore, make sure to light up the area around the pillager outpost with items such as glowstone or lanterns, similar to torches.

In order to provide an additional level of safeguarding, you can position barriers that are generally inaccessible to mobs, like Glass, Leaves, and Slabs.

Command Blocks

Obtain Command Blocks in Minecraft’s survival mode, cheating is required to some extent, and one way to do this is by eliminating Pillagers as soon as they appear. Alternatively, you can also consider another approach.

To access commands or cheats in the chat, enter the following command: /chat enter. Then press the following command to start the LAN World: Block Command. If you don’t have commands or cheats to access, you’ll need to press Escape > Open LAN > Allow Cheats.

Enter the command /kill @e[type=pillager,distance=..100] into the text box: paste and open the window to it, then right-click to spawn Pillagers in the center of the area where the Outpost is located. Place the Command Block inside the Pillager’s area.

Always stay active as well, eliminating the need for Redstone. Configure the appropriate button as ‘Repeat’. By doing so, the command will continually replicate itself. Ensure that the Command Block has the far left button labeled ‘Impulse’ switched on. Lastly, make sure to do this.

If you want to disable the spam of the “Block Command” in the game chat, you can change the value to one of your choosing. This command will kill any Pillagers within 100 blocks.

Notes & Alternatives

The adjacent Meadow and Sandy Blocks must be cleared, so that Pillagers can always spawn there. Simply illuminating the area or encasing it with molten rock will not affect the Pillagers’ ability to spawn. Demolishing a Pillager Outpost will also have no impact.

There are several alternative options available if you want to move away from a Pillager Outpost in a different biome. One option is to simply move away from the surrounding areas where Pillagers are escaping and set up Fences or Outposts even further out. Another option is to try and defeat the Hordes of Iron Golems that can spawn in any surrounding area and stop the Pillagers from escaping.
