I don’t know much about it, but there could be a bug in which if a person is actually there to keep the loaded chunks, then there might be an issue if it is changed, the blocks near the players will be where the map is. However, I don’t think it has anything to do with the commands that are run.

Can you please provide a picture of your system and specify the command blocks that are not functioning? Additionally, there might be an issue with the power source, particularly if you are utilizing a comparator clock.

How exactly are you placing it so far away? Does it sound like an error chunk unloaded? If chunks tend to behave strangely, even if you don’t think it would be like an unloaded error chunk, how exactly are you placing it so far away?

If this is indeed the issue or not, inform you at the very minimum and load the section should this be necessary, if you wish to position the block, you may consider attempting a prompt solution, and subsequently introduce a hopper clock within the section.
