Modpack Issues

If the mistake is not mentioned or if you’re not encountering any mistakes whatsoever, please attempt the subsequent resolutions:

  • Repair the Installation

  • If you are experiencing this issue when attempting to install modpacks using Forge Modloader, please try the suggested solutions related to it.
  • If you don’t have Java installed on your system, you will likely receive a message when trying to launch modpacks on Windows. Java is necessary to run Minecraft modpacks.

    To resolve the problem of experiencing issues while running modpacks, please follow these steps to install the latest version of Java. However, in cases where you already have Java, but are still facing issues, please follow these steps to install the latest version of Java.

  • Download the latest Java version available here: https://java.com/download (your operating system should be automatically detected, or you can choose it manually here: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp).

  • Run the installation:

  • Restart the CurseForge application and attempt to launch your modpack(s) once more.

  • If you’re trying to launch modpacks, and you encounter an error message or nothing happens, the system cannot find the specified file.

    If you have encountered an error while attempting to designate a modding directory, for instance:

  • The computer desktop or a folder located on the desktop.
  • A OneDrive directory, or any directory within the OneDrive folder.
  • The default directory for Vanilla Minecraft (
  • A route that includes letters from languages other than English
  • A root directory (C:\, D:\, etc.), As in – the initial or highest-level folder in a hierarchy.
  • If you are not sure, it is recommended to select a directory similar to “Selecting that and CurseForge\D:\CurseForge or C:\CurseForge” or “Users\[user]\curseforge\” outside of the new folder, when prompted by the suggested – app.

    If you encounter the subsequent errors, please attempt to fix the installation via the application.

    In order to resolve the installation issue, navigate to the menu situated on the right-hand side and select the option ‘Repair installation’. Subsequently, confirm whether the problem has been rectified.

  • Open Overwolf’s installation directory (default: C:\Program Files
